Teacher Training Academy

Welcome to the Teacher Training Academy website. The entire staff at TTA is dedicated to providing a tested and effective training curriculum that will help each new applicant transition into the important role of classroom teacher as smoothly as possible. This 40-hour training is a condition of employment for most teachers who are new to LAUSD. All Contracted, Substitute, Special Education and those teachers recently recruited from other countries, will learn from a talented staff of professional educators who are experienced classroom teachers as well as effective workshop facilitators. For those of you who have been selected to participant in the District Intern Program, the Teacher Training Academy will provide a professional pre-service orientation that will establish a foundation for effective teaching practices. Currently employed Interns may receive on-going school-site support by our experienced and dedicated Advisors and Specialists.
